It's homecoming week, and Overton ISD is excited to welcome our returning Alumni. There are a lot of exciting activities planned for both current and returning Mustangs! Here's a quick summary of the events planned for this coming weekend.
The weekend begins with a Pep Rally on Thursday, Sep 19th at 3:20PM in the Overton ISD middle school gym. On Friday morning, the 2nd annual Rotary Homecoming Golf tournament begins the day with a shotgun start tee off at 8:30am. This is a 4-person scramble format and it's hosted at the Overton Community Golf Course. There are still a few spot open for teams; so contact John Pepper today to register your group.
Friday afternoon is all about our Mustangs competing. The Lady Mustang Volleyball team will take on Union Grove at 4:30pm in the Overton ISD High School Gym. Friday night, the Mustang Football Team will host Maud under the lights at Chester Roy Stadium. Kick off is scheduled for 7:00PM.
The excitement continues on Saturday in the Overton downtown area with several events sponsored by the Overton Heritage Foundation beginning with a classic car show from 10am to 2pm. At 2:30pm, there will be an old fashioned Pie Auction. At 4:30PM, the 3rd annual Mustang Block Party will feature two and a half hours of live music. Local talent will be on display with multiple performers covering a variety of music genres. The grand finale' will be a live street dance for ALL ages. DJ Nikki will be spinning up the tunes beginning at 7:00PM. It's sure to be a fun finish to an exciting weekend!
