MUSTANG NATION - as we move through January and February, we know these months often bring inclement weather. It's a good time to remind everyone where you can get the latest updates of any potential school delays or closures.
Information about school closures or delays will be shared through the Overton ISD communication system via email, phone and/or a text messages to all parents and staff. (Please check that all of your contact information is correct and up to date in Ascender and that you have downloaded the Overton ISD phone app from the iOS App Store or the Android Play Store, and enabled notifications).
Posts will also be made to the official Overton ISD Facebook page, and the district website at www.overtonisd.org
Finally, closures/delays will also be reported to local media outlets: KLTV, KETK, and CBS 19.
If there is nothing posted regarding a cancellation or delay on any of these sources, Overton ISD schools are open and proceeding on a normal schedule.
Every attempt will be made to make decisions involving postponement and/or cancelling of the school day either by 10:00 PM the evening before or by 6:00 AM the morning of the affected day.
