Overton ISD's Internet services are currently down. This is affecting the district's phone system in addition to general Internet access. Incoming calls may fail to connect or go directly to voicemail until service is restored.

A Playoff Bonfire Pep Rally is planned for tomorrow night, Wednesday Nov. 13th at 6:30pm. The Pep Rally will be at the Overton Lake/Park Area, between the lake and the old pool house. Come out and celebrate/support Mustangs Football - they begin the playoffs with the Bi-District Round against Evadale on Thursday night in San Augustine.! Go MUSTANGS!

Today at Overton ISD, we had a student health issue on the secondary campus. As a result, we called for ambulance services. Because it is unusual for us to have emergency vehicles at the school, we did not want parents to be alarmed. All students and staff are fine and the school day is continuing smoothly.

Good Luck to Our Marching Mustang Band! Go Mustangs!

After a thorough investigation by SRO, Michael Gayton and other Officers with Overton PD, the precautionary lockdown (initiated at 8:10am) has been cleared. It was determined that the sound was from off campus, and there was no threat to OISD students or staff.

At approximately 8:10am, a teacher reported what sounded like possible gunfire from outside the building. OISD is on a precautionary lockdown and our SRO is investigating. Students and staff are safe; we will update when more information is available.

2nd grade celebrated National Bus Safety Week by coloring a great picture! Thank you Mrs. Jones for the picture.

NO SCHOOL - Tue, Oct 29th
In order to facilitate the large numbers of staff and students who wish to support our Marching Band in the State Competition at Baylor University, Overton ISD will be closed on Tuesday, October 29th. Classes will resume as usual on Wednesday, October 30th.
Approximately 23% of our secondary students are in the band. We have numerous staff members at both secondary and elementary campuses whose children and/or grandchildren will be performing, and of course all of our students and staff are Mustang Fans. This decision was discussed and suggested by our District leadership team, and approved by the superintendent. If we continue with this protocol, it will apply only to situations where Overton ISD has a large group/team of students participating in a state level competition during a regular school day, and our calendar has sufficient days to allow closing without necessitating a make-up day. After the 29th, we will review the results, and reevaluate to determine if any modifications should be made for the future.
As you know, we have been forced to close with less notice for water outages, power outages, flooded roads, and inclement weather, but we do apologize for the inconvenience to families who are not able to attend the competition.
Congratulations to our MARCHING MUSTANG BAND!
It’s a Great Day to be a MUSTANG!

Keep our students safe. Know when to stop.

It's been a long time coming, but the Mustang Wall of Honor will have new additions soon for the 2022-23 and 2023-24 school years. The newly engraved brick tiles have arrived, and will be installed in the coming weeks. The Bill Davis Wall of Honor at Chester Roy Stadium commemorates and celebrates Mustangs (past and present) that have earned the right to compete and/or achieved recognition for extracurricular activities at the State level. The image above shows the 17 tiles to be added to the wall. Congratulations to all of our new Wall of Honor members! Go MUSTANGS!
