All-Region Band Try-Outs were held this weekend in Winona and Henderson, Tx. Our Middle School and Hight School Overton Band Members competed once again against 3A and 4A schools for a chance in several honor bands. We Are Extremely Proud of these Overton Mustang Band Members listed Below!

A couple of our FFA kids had a great day at the Union Hill / Gladewater livestock show. Jolie Richardson won 3rd place in both rings with her goat. This was her first show ever and she did an awesome job showing him!! Vance had the Supreme Champion steer in both rings and was the Reserve Champion Beefmaster Heifer in ring B. We’re really proud of these kids!
Boys win 55-36 over Union Hill today to win the Union Hill tournament. Bryce Still was named to the All Tournament team. Great job Mustangs & Bryce!!!

Our kids had a great time at the Area VI Greenhand Camp! They learned some valuable life lessons and were exposed to many leadership opportunities. We’re very proud of how these kids represented the Overton FFA!
Congrats to Kayla Nobles and Catherine Dennis!!! Both were selected for All State Honors in Conference 2A Volleyball by The Texas Girls Coaches Association for the 2023 season.

Congrats to Overton ISD Director of Transportation, Sarah Tharp. She was recently recognized as a Certified TAPT Pupil Transportation Specialist. The certificate reads, "Having duly qualified under the standards as prescribed, and having fulfilled all the personal, ethical and professional requirements and qualifications as established by the Texas Association for Pupil Transportation". Ms. Tharp has been instrumental in putting Overton ISD and our transportation department in a leadership position with our Entry-Level Driver Training program, and with the help of our technology department, she successfully implemented BusRight to provide real-time information and communication to our drivers, staff and families. Thank you to Ms. Tharp for her continued dedication to ensuring Overton ISD provides excellence for our students and our community.
Varsity boys win 44-18 today over Union Hill. They will play again tomorrow at 5pm, opponent to be determined.

Mustang Alley will be closed to through traffic all day on Monday, November 13th. This is a temporary closure to allow the recently poured concrete to fully cure. The sunlight over the weekend was insufficient, and it needs an additional day. Parents are asked to drop off secondary students at the cafeteria (in the elementary and bus drop off line) or at the front of the auditorium. We apologize for the inconvenience.
